On the day

The course is open from 8.00am until dusk. A few things to know before your round:

  • Check in at the pro shop at least 15 minutes before your tee time. The team will point you to the first tee.
  • Pay your green fee at the pro shop when you check in, unless you have already paid online. See green fees.
  • Dress code: golf attire on the course, with collared shirts, tailored shorts and golf shoes; no denim or football shirts. Smart casual in the clubhouse. Full details on the visitors page.
  • Buggies, trolleys and hire clubs are available from the pro shop. Buggies are limited, so reserve one when you book.
  • After your round, the clubhouse bar and restaurant is open normal licensing hours from 1 March to 31 October; from 1 November to 28 February the clubhouse closes at 6.00pm.

A handicap is not needed for a casual visitor round. Open competitions do require a Golf Ireland or WHS handicap; see open competitions for entry details.

Weather & cancellations

Mallow is a parkland course in the Blackwater Valley and drains well, but in a wet spell or a hard frost we sometimes have to close or delay play. Here is how it works.

Before you travel

  • If in doubt, ring the pro shop on +353 22 21145 (ext 2) before you set out.
  • On frosty winter mornings the first tee times may be pushed back until the course is fit for play.

Changing or cancelling a booking

  • If we close the course, there is no charge: any green fee already paid is refunded or moved to a date that suits you.
  • If you need to cancel or change a booking, please give the pro shop at least 24 hours' notice by ringing ext 2, so the slot can be offered to someone else.
  • Society bookings are held with a €100 deposit. See the society booking terms.
